British India - I Thought We Knew Each Other Single Tour
Off the back of their new single 'I Thought We Knew Each Other' and following last year’s hugely successful album tour, Australian indie rock band British India will be returning to the road for a behemoth tour.
The band will be taking their highly-charged live show to venues in Newcastle, Long Jetty, Mornington, Margaret River, Wanneroo, Ballarat Central, Melbourne, Geelong, Canberra, Wagga Wagga, Brisbane, Sydney, Mackay, Airlie Beach, Townsville, Hobart, Launceston, Adelaide, Perth and Fremantle.
"Is there anything harder than watching something beautiful die? The human instinct is to hold on but, all too often, we realise that there is nothing left to do but let go".
Following its premiere on triple j, British India's new single 'I Thought We Knew Each Other', takes that moment and holds it up to the light.
The single's instrumentation is provided by strings and guitars, matched with an unrelenting break-beat. The hushed intensity of the song’s verses make way for the dizzying rush of a mile high chorus, highlighting the band’s effortless intensity honed razor sharp.
Since the release of British India’s last long-player, Nothing Touches Me – which landed neatly in the ARIA Albums Chart at an impressive #5 spot – the Melbourne based four-piece has been somewhat quiet, bunkered down in the studio. Now, they're smashing that silence with ‘I Thought We Knew Each Other’. The song harnesses the stylistic innovations of Nothing Touches Me and synthesizes them with the wide-eyed fury of the band’s earliest offerings.
Now boasting four Top 10 ARIA albums, seven entries into the coveted ‘Hottest 100’ countdown, and over 10 years in the biz, there is no stopping this indie-rock juggernaut.
‘I Thought We Knew Each Other’ is released this Friday September 9.
