Flume Australian Tour

Australia’s biggest electronic export Flume is on top of the world as he is set to embark on a behemoth world tour, including a run of national dates in November to December to celebrate the release of his forthcoming album, Skin, which will be out on May 27 via Future Classic.

The tour will kick off in Perth before making its way to Brisbane for two consecutive performances, then to Sydney for another two consecutive shows. Melbourne will see two back-to-back shows before the Australian leg concludes in Adelaide.

Flume’s last headline dates in Australia in 2013 saw completely sold out multiple Hordern Pavilion and Festival Hall shows. He headlined the 2016 Laneway Festival in February to rave reviews. Flume recently unveiled his ambitious new live show while closing Coachella’s Outdoor Theatre Stage, debuting new live material from Skin. Balancing sound and scale in a live setting, Flume worked with an expert team led by production designer Rob Sinclair (LCD Soundsystem, Florence and the Machine, Lorde) and Jonathan Zawada (Skin album art) with audiovisual artist David Wexler (Flying Lotus, The Rolling Stones, Hudson Mohawke) and Lighting Designer Stu Dingley.

The tour will circumnavigate the world with over 70 dates including more than 10,000 capacity shows in London, New York and many more. Music from the new album is already receiving critical acclaim: Pitchfork calls the music “custom made for dark, secluded warehouse raves”, while Nylon names it “powerful and utterly unique”. Lead single “Never Be Like You” continues to slither up charts around the globe. It is currently #29 on U.S. Top 40 radio and #71 on the Billboard Hot 100 after being streamed more than 85 million times since release and reaching #1 on Spotify’s Global Viral Chart and #1 on Hype Machine. Climbing up the Top 100 Shazam charts globally, the track is seeing air wave domination across Europe and is a #1, Double Platinum single in Australia, a first for Flume, as well as #2 and Platinum in New Zealand.

Released last week, the second single, "Say It feat. Tove Lo", debuted as BBC Radio 1 Hottest Record and Track of the Day. Host Annie Mac says of the single: “He’s done it again. Flume has made another smasher”.

Joining Flume by support are unstoppable Long Beach MC Vince Staples who features as a special guest on the album for ‘Smoke & Retribution’ and enigmatic UK producer Sophie. Both acts were highlights of the Laneway bill this year – Vince with his excellent first album Summertime '06 in tow, and Sophie on the back of his avantgarde electronic debut material.
