Taught by award winning light painter Peter Solness, the Painting With Light workshop will teach you how to apply torchlight onto darkened subjects such as flowers and trees to create unique and exciting photographic images. Centennial Park is the ideal learning space as there are no street lights and the park has a wonderful range of subjects to explore.
After an initial session in the Discovery Centre photographing beautiful wildflowers, we will head out into Centennial Park’s picturesque paperbark and fig groves where you will ‘paint’ the trees, statues and historic buildings with special torchlights supplied by Peter. The results will astound you.
Digital SLR cameras are required for this workshop. (Smart phones are not suitable). Tripods are also required, and can be rented for $20 a session.
Beginner to intermediate photography skills. Participants should have a basic understanding of their cameras.
Ages 14 years and above. (Parents can attend for free with children up to 16 years of age).
